We’ve been hearing whisperings about the kitten heel coming back for months, but to be honest I’ve never quite taken the rumours seriously. The style has been in exile for many years, and surely it time for the demi heel to claw its way back into fashion so soon after it was cast aside.
But proof has materialised over at Net-a-Porter in the most undeniable form imaginable: on the bottom of a Louboutin shoe. Yes, Christian himself has allowed himself to be distracted from his usual, more robust heels and has brought out a whole range of kitten styles, including this one that’s already sold out. As the weather gets colder, I can feel myself being drawn to darker colours and practical fabrics. This ticks one of those boxes, thought I fear the holes throughout the design will lead to soggy and chilly toes.

The giant scale animal print on these substantial courts by Karen Millen has really grabbed our attention today, and we’re thinking this could be just the sort of fun statement piece that’s needed to brighten up the more sombre clothing colour palate this autumn.
