Christian Dior shows haute couture collection sans John Galliano

Christian Dior’s autumn–winter 2011–12 haute couture show lends a bit of playful relief, following the house’s recent asco regarding the sacking of its former creative director John Galliano. Bill Gaytten, accompanied by his assistant Susanna Venegas, has stepped up to the challenge to be considered as the new creative director and on July 4, presented his rst couture collection.
Although each piece is beautiful in its own right, at times it is like looking at three, sometimes even four, separate collections. As if Gaytten’s ideas ran away with him and got lost in translation. With no app

River Island ‘Evade’ floral platforms

River Island continue to wow us with their approach to pretty, slightly out-there looking shoes, and as has been the case for a few seasons now, they are really majoring in statement platforms (if sandals are more your thing you should really check out the rest of their sale – there are some jaw-dropping bargains with great shoes for as little as £15)

But back to these lofty heels: not everyone has the ankle strength to order a style like this in confidence, but if this is a look you’ve been wanting to try, this very pretty floral platform style has now appeared in the ASOS sale.

Review: N2N Black Bikini

What are the words you would use to describe a pair of underwear you find incredibly sexy?  Whatever they may be, you will definitely use them to describe the N2N Black Bikini.  Black is the nickname for this particular line of N2N underwear and brings to mind a sleek, sexy look that is mimicked in the style and fabric.

The N2N Black Bikini is shiny, ultra soft and meant to enhance what you have up front with an ample pouch that stretches and fits like a glove.  The fabric is 80% Nylon and 20% Spandex.  The sides are approximately an inch wide at their smallest and the rear covers well.  There is a rubberized N2N logo on the back center seated directly below the waist.  The back of the bikini covers well and contours a bit as well.  From back to front, the pouch sits low and is meant to cover what you have up front and not much else.  The pouch is roomy and a nice size with the fabric allowing for plenty of stretch.

I wore these while driving two hours to work, working six and a half hours, a break at a local bar and driving home two more hours.  I wore these for a long day to see how they would hold up to everyday wear.  The fit was good, but I did feel a little warm throughout the day while wearing them.  The N2N Black Bikini may be best utilized as a pair of special underwear for dates, clubbing, etc.

The price, as listed on the N2N Bodywear website is $26.  So, the price is fairly reasonable for a specialty pair of underwear.  There are special instructions dealing with the care of the Black style:  *Chlorine, bleach, oil (lube, suntan lotion, baby oil, etc) may break down the special matte coating of this novelty fabric.  I do not mind special instructions (cold wash and hang dry makes things last longer), but some guys would not want to take the time involved in special care instructions.

Overall, the N2N Black Bikini is sexy, hot, fun, exciting and thought invoking.  I thoroughly

Christchurch designers come to Wellington, while the Historical Arts’ Trust plans to head down

On Saturday and Sunday in Wellington, Lucire attended Red into the Black, a trade fair of Christchurch businesses—including designers and jewellers—who got a helping hand promoting their goods at the TSB Arena.
Heather Morris and other organizers found sponsors, including Harrys and Mainfreight, to ship up products from Christchurch businesses affected by the February earthquake, to give them a chance to sell to Wellingtonians wishing to support them.
We were there to see Kathryn Leah Payne, Mister (designers Ra Thomson and Mickey Lin are pictured at left), Angela Stone, Saviour and Debra Falloweld among the many Cantabrians doing decent business and marketing to Wellingtonians.
Some managed to clear four- and ve-gure sales numbers there. In the wo
